Sonic the Hedgehog 

Story:

 Sonic, an space alien blue hedgehog who can run at super speeds, finds himself after by a clan  of echidnas for his power. His guardian, Longclaw the Owl, provides him a bag of rings that can bring to pass portals to other planets, using one to transmit him to Earth while she defends him from the echidnas, and also provides Sonic a map to a planet full with mushrooms to use if he detects trouble on Earth. Ten years later, Sonic continues with a secret life near the town of Green Hills, Montana, but he wants to make friends. He loves the local sheriff, Tom Wachowski, and his wife, Maddie, unaware Tom and Maddie are planning to relocate to San Francisco soon, as Tom has been selected by the San Francisco Police Department.

One night, Sonic falls distressed over his aloneness when sporting  baseball by himself, and runs at super speed as a result, accidentally dropping an electromagnetic pulse that knocks out power across the Pacific Northwest. Roboticist and scientific genius Doctor Robotnik is recruited by the United States Department of Defense to uncover the source of the outage. Robotnik confirms and tracks Sonic, who conceals in the Wachowskis' shed. Tom confirms Sonic and unintentionally shoots him with a tranquilizer, causing him to fall his bag of rings through a portal to San Francisco. Tom unwillingly agrees to help Sonic before Robotnik comes at the Wachowskis' house and the two flee. As the pair avoids Robotnik, who labels Tom a domestic terrorist, they slowly bond, with Tom feeling about Sonic's want for a real friend.

Robotnik discovers the power in it, has the potential to fuel his robots, and becomes busy with capturing Sonic. As he tracks them down, Tom discusses his plans to move Green Hills, which Sonic disapproves of. Shortly after winning against a robot sent by Robotnik, an explosion harms Sonic. Arriving at San Francisco, Tom brings him to Maddie, who resurrected him. While Tom describes their situation to Maddie, Sonic gets a new pair of shoes from Maddie's niece. They soon head to the roof of the Transamerica Pyramid, where Sonic's bag of rings fall, and recover them. Robotnik gets there in a hovercraft and attacks them, pushing Sonic to use a ring to send Tom and Maddie back to Green Hills.

Sonic escapes from Robotnik, who uses the power of Sonic's quill to match up his speed. The two are involved in a chase across the world, eventually returning to Green Hills. Robotnik damages Sonic, but Tom interferes, allowing Sonic to recapture his strength and recall his lost energy. Overcoming Robotnik, Sonic beats him by sending him to the mushroom planet. Following the circumstance, Tom and Maddie come to a decision to stay in Green Hills and let Sonic live with them. The US government deletes all evidence of the incidents, including records of Robotnik's existence.
